Buttery Apple Fritters

Whenever i come to the east coast i am fortunate to stay with my good friend Christie. Christie is fortunate to have a bountiful Apple Tree out back. We are fortunate to be left with days and days of apple fun.

Goal: Find awesome things to do with Apples

Objective: make them, cook it and love every bit

Today i made THE BEST apple fritters, or as we like to call them in this house, Apple Orgasms. Here is the recipe

Core and peel apples, Slice in thin slices so they look like donuts.

Toss in the juice of 1/2 lime

Mix together

1C Tapioca starch (or flour, if you are not gluten sensitive)

1/3C Sugar

1T Chinese Five Spice

8 oz of Gluten Free Beer (my favorite is New Planet)

Stir mixture until looks like cake batter

Dip each slice in mixture until coated

Fry in butter until golden brown on both sides

Lay on plate lined with a brown paper bag or paper towel to absorb excess grease

–Alternative versions–

remove sugar for sweeter apples

substitute beer for ginger ale for more tart apples

–Absolutely Necessary–

Enjoy!
