Weekly Photo Challenge: Lost in the Details

Most people walk through their lives on auto pilot; dis-connected to nature, to the person next to them, and to their own bodies. We fight against being groggy, because we haven’t had enough coffee. Or running late for a meeting. Running to class. Picking up the kids. running into the store. drive thrus. 90 sec microwave meals. busy. tired. busy. tired. sleep-less. In a world where ‘busy’ is glorified when do we get to stop and notice the little things? Are we lost in our own details?

As a Photographer i tried to capture the things that would generally go unnoticed and bring them into focus. I took this picture a the Rail trail along the Mon River.  Generally the photo would highlight the bird but for me it was about capturing the first buds of spring blooming on a naked limb.

To all those that rush, push and fuss their way through the day. Slow down. Breath. Look around. Say hi to a person that passes you on the street. You will be amazed at the beauty and wonderment that you are passing by.
